Beginners Guide To Making Money Online: Niche Selection

Ok guys, today I am going to talk about niche selection and how you can come up with ideas of what to look for. This post will not be to long since its not that hard to do but for some reason a ton of people get stuck here. So I am going to go over a few different ways I come up with niches to promote.

Well first I guess I should go over what I mean by a niche or micro niche for the new guys who are just getting started. A niche is what you most likely thought it was already, and that being just a general subject or product. A niche can be camping, fishing, kitchenware to something as simple as cell phone batteries. The fact that most major corporations do not target micro niches within a certain niche allows us to rank for and profit for many micro niches and keywords.

So to find and select a niche really depends on what you have an interest in and what you think is or can be profitable online. You want to think like a consumer in a sense that would you buy this product online, or would you search for this product or information online? If its something that you can easily get while your at the store like a Wal-Mart, then you will probably get less response with your ads. Now this also depends on what it is because the fact that some things you can find a lot cheaper online and without sales tax. So really you just have to look at it and say to yourself if you would ever get online to purchase it or research it etc. Also with the internet becoming more popular with all age groups more and more people are just ordering online because its easy and convenient.

One of the best ways to come up with ideas on what you could possibly promote or target as a niche is when you are shopping. Every time you go out to purchase something either at a hardware store or supermarket always keeping your eye out for something that you think would possibly be an item you would purchase online. Just remember everything you look at is a possible niche that you can target.

Another thing that you can do is just look around your house and just write down what you see. Sitting right here at my desk I could name off the following: Computer desk, Computer Tower, Computer speakers, Mouse, Office chair, Office Furniture, Book Case, Laptop Bag, Filing Cabinet and the list could go on and on. All of these are potential niches you could possibly target.

And lastly another great way to find niches is to search Amazon and Ebay for their top sellers. Amazon Top Sellers will list in each category what is selling the best and this can be a great way to find what’s selling online. This lately has been my main way of telling if a product is worth trying to target or not. Just go through all the different ones and pick out what you think might be good selections.

Ok, so now we have gone over a few ways you can come up with niches to target. I know that you still have no idea how we are going to target these but this is just the first step. As we go along we will go over the steps needed to find out if the niche is worth trying to go after and how to do the keyword research needed. So before going onto the next step I want you to go out and find 15 different niches that you think will be good to promote online. Don’t worry if you are not sure because as this series goes on you will learn how to weed the bad ones out. Eventually you will get the hang of it and just know from experience if it’s a good niche or not worth researching. Once you have your niches selected we will then start the process of find keywords and determining if its something you can compete for and if its profitable or not. Beginners Guide To Making Money Online: The Concept

Ok guys its been some time since I posted on this blog and you may have noticed I removed a lot of the posts I had. Wanted to clean things up a bit and start a new series of posts about how to make money online for beginners. So today I am going to go over the concept of how you can easily start making money online.

By now you have heard of Google and if you haven’t I don’t know where you have been all this time. Google is the grand daddy of the internet and is also why the internet is now the new land of opportunity. If you can get a website to rank first in Google for a keyword that has thousands of searches then you can make some serious cash. So as you can tell the method that I am going to go over the next couple weeks is how to rank websites in Google and how you can make money by doing this. The concept is just like watching T.V and seeing the commercials in a way. The television show is there to make money either by providing entertainment or information. The way the networks make money is by selling the Ad space on each television show. Now with a show like Lost its going to cost a heck of a lot more than some “do it yourself” show. The reason for this is the amount of people viewing Lost. We call the viewers in the internet marketing world Traffic. Traffic is key to online success and is what you want lots of. If you can get traffic then you will succeed and have the potential to become very wealthy. The trick though is getting traffic and this is the hardest part of the game and takes time to do. Its not impossible but it takes patience and work.

There is a lot going on for a website to rank #1 in Google for a search term. You first have to find keywords that are profitable and also ones you can compete with online in a reasonable amount of time. Then you must create a site that targets the keywords you have chosen and write quality content that is search engine optimized. You must set the site up so that its optimized for the search engines as well. After that you will have to build links pointing back to your site from other relevant sites using your keywords as the anchor. Then at last you will have to monetize your site so that you make money. This sounds way harder than it really is. The hardest part of the game is finding backlinks to your site from relevant sites.

To make money on these sites we basically have a few options. Option number one is to place Google Adsense on our site and make money per click we get on ads we display. Option number two is that we have affiliate ads on our site like Amazon or other companies with affiliate programs allowing you to earn a commission on a sale. And the last two ways you can possible make and income is either have your own product for sale be physical or electronic, or do lead generation and get pad per action which I will go over later in this series.

Can You Actually Make Money Online? Yes You Can!

The question many people have when they hear about internet marketing or about making money online is that is it legit. The reason for this is because there is a lot of junk out there that just rips people off for their money. The truth is that there are hundreds and maybe thousands of ways to make money online. So today I would like to just go over a few basic ways people are earning an income online.

Affiliate marketing is nothing new and has been around forever in the newspapers, magazines to commercials on television. So it is now also one of the major ways people make money online today. People basically will build a site and drive traffic to their site and in return hope that they purchase something from the affiliates that they are advertising on their website. There is an affiliate program for almost any product or service that you can think of out there.

The way an affiliate program works is you basically make a percentage of a sale that came through your site. So let’s say I had a website that was about pool tables and I was advertising different vendors on my site that I was an affiliate too. I would make money when someone came to my site looking for information and then went on to one of the sites that was being advertised and purchased something. A little file known as a “cookie” normally is uploaded to the person when they click on your affiliate link which gives you the commission on their purchases. So depending on what the price of the product they purchased and the percentage that you are getting you could easily make a lot of money on one sale. That is just the basics to how people make money with affiliate programs. I will go over this many more times in detail in the future.

Another way people are making money online is by CPA offers. CPA or Cost Per Action is another great way to earn income. Cost Per Action basically means that you make money by providing a lead or information or signing up for a free trail or for more info. These are great because most of the time it doesn’t require the person to buy anything for you to make money. You are paid based on an action they did either by them giving the detailed info or signing up for a free item etc. This is all based on Lead Generation which you will find out later down the road is a huge asset when it comes to marketing online. CPA’s pay anything from 5 bucks for an email to 50 dollars for someone signing up for a free trial. It really all depends on what is being advertised and the cost of it to how much it pays out.

Product creation can be a very lucrative way to make money online. This can be anything from writing an E-Book to building a program for people to use. If you play your cards right and have a demanding product and market it the correct way you can make a killing. There are people in the IM world that are known to make over a Million Dollars in less than 24 hours for just instructional videos and ebooks. So if you know how to program or have an idea the internet could be a great way to get it out and into the world.

Providing services is also a very good way to earn extra cash online. People outsource almost everything to programming software to content creation. No one can do it all so you eventually have to outsource to someone to get the job done. And now you can get it done for a reasonable cost due to the internet. There are websites that deal just with freelancers and allow them to post jobs and for people looking for jobs to bid on work. So if you can write or just do small administrative jobs you can easily make a few extra bucks by providing a service for someone.

The last thing I want to go over is membership sites. This to me is one of my favorites due to the fact that you get a reoccurring payment each month. Or if you provide a free membership then you’re able to do lead capture and sale on the backend to people through email campaigns. I know a ton of people who are making well over 30 thousand a month because they have one membership site that has about 1000 members or so. If you build a membership site that over delivers and has a demand you will easily meet 1000 members plus due to word of mouth.

Now all of this may sound like its way over your head and some of it will be at first. But you can’t just jump in and expect to know everything right away. Most people start off with affiliate marketing promoting other peoples products then move on to the bigger things. Other things people don’t realize is that you don’t have to know how to program or how to create a website. In today’s world it’s all user friendly software and is very easy to do.
